The Wright Brothers Cycle Shop, Dayton, Ohio

Theresa and Dwight spent a weekend in July in Dayton, Ohio. Theresa was going to be working at her company's Dayton office Monday to Wednesday, so we thought we would do some sightseeing on Saturday and Sunday. Here's Dwight standing in front of the last of Orville and Wilbur's cycle shops.

Parachuting

We decided we would try something a little different, like, well, like jumping out of an airplane. Yes, I know; everyone says we make it look easy.

See, it was really easy. (Actually, these were cutouts in the National Something-or-Other right next to the cycle shop.)

WPAFM

Wherever you went in Dayton you would see signs directing you to the "WPAFM", the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. Here, at the very beginning of the exhibit (which is huge!) is the first airplane sold by the Wright Brothers to the airforce. The REAL Air Force One.
They had some newer planes, and everything in between.

Packard Museum

And we visited the most amazing Packard museum. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, and the guy who ran the place showed us four floors (including the basement) filled with about 100 Packards, old and older, some in wonderful shape, some in need of a little fixing up. Here we are in a 1908.
